Grilled Oysters

Ingredients

  • 12 fresh oysters
  • 3 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon cilantro (optional)

Steps

  1. Rinse the oysters and scrub the shells clean. Drain and set aside.
  2. Melt the butter and mix it with minced garlic, soy sauce, sugar, salt, and black pepper to make the garlic butter sauce.
  3. Place the oysters on a baking tray. Gently pry open the shells and keep half of the shell.
  4. Spread the garlic butter sauce evenly over each oyster.
  5. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the oysters for 8-10 minutes until the sauce turns slightly golden.
  6. Remove the grilled oysters from the oven and sprinkle with chopped green onions and cilantro. Serve immediately.

Tips

Avoid overcooking to keep the oysters tender. For a spicy kick, add a pinch of chili powder or minced chili peppers.
